Our purpose

Our motivation is grounded in a common purpose: to make our planet a better place and to safeguard the freedoms granted by our Republic and the U.S. Constitution for our children and the generations that follow.

Our name

David Walker was a teenager in Erie, Pennsylvania when he came across a thirty foot sailboat called SlyFox.

A sailboat rewards exactness. Trim, balance, sail shape, and a hundred small corrections a minute that nobody on shore will ever see. Get them right and the boat is fast. Get them wrong and it is just a heavy thing in the water. That is a fair description of engineering too.

The boat stood for performance and discovery. The fox stood for character and purpose. Both came along when the company got its name, and neither has been decoration since.

The fox was never a threat icon and it is not one now. Just as the fox protects and cares for his family, we have your back. People who work here are called SlyFoxians, which started as a joke and stopped being one a long time ago.

Who runs it

Five people, two of whom share a last name with the company's founder. That is not an accident, and we are not embarrassed by it.
